Clarke County Fire Claims One Life

A Clarke County man died early this morning following a structure fire involving a camper trailer, according to local officials.

Clarke County Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) responded to the fire at approximately 4:30 a.m. in the 500 block of County Road 211. Upon arrival, firefighters found the camper trailer fully involved in flames.

A male individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. Clarke County Coroner David Bonner confirmed that the body will be sent for an autopsy. The victim’s name has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no further details have been made available.

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Department also responded and assisted at the scene.
