Mayor Percy Bland welcomed the Southern Rail Commission to Meridian, Mississippi, this morning for its quarterly meeting at The MAX.

Meridian, Mississippi strongly supports continued development of the proposed I-20 passenger rail corridor and the opportunities it could create for travel, tourism and economic development.

“Rail has always been part of Meridian’s story, and we believe it can be an important part of our future,” Mayor Bland said. “Expanding passenger rail creates new connections and new opportunities. That’s momentum.”
