Lauderdale County, MS Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Twiltley Branch Assault
On Saturday night July 19th at 10:54 p.m. Lauderdale County E-911 was called in reference to a disturbance and assault that occurred at the Twiltley Branch Campground located on Okatibbee Lake. Upon arrival, deputies located an individual who had been assaulted, and Metro Ambulance was requested. Deputies initiated an investigation. During the past several days, Lauderdale County Sheriff Department investigators have consulted with the District Attorney‘s office as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Mississippi, because this incident occurred in federal property. into. Based upon their investigation, William Zachary Ezell, a 41-year-old white male, was arrested today and charged with aggravated assault. His bond has been set at $75,000. This investigation is ongoing and is being reviewed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for further action.
