Today, Mayor Percy Bland and Community Development Director Terrell Thompson were out in Meridian's neighborhoods surveying the progress being made to remove dilapidated and unsafe structures.

Thompson said, "It isn't easy work, and it doesn't happen overnight. Every property requires planning, coordination, and a commitment to doing the job the right way. But this work matters."

Mayor Percy Bland said, "As we continue investing in downtown Meridian, we're just as committed to investing where people live. Removing blight improves safety, strengthens neighborhoods, and creates opportunities for future growth.

This is work we're engaged in every single day, and we'll continue sharing our progress along the way.
