Thee Herbal Blessing cuts ribbon on Meridian location

Lauderdale County residents seeking natural remedies have a new resource to turn to after Thee Herbal Blessing cut the ribbon Friday on its location in Meridian.

Founded by Eric Collins, Thee Herbal Blessing offers organic, herbal supplements to help customers with a variety of ailments and illnesses. Starting with one location in Jackson in 2019, the business has expanded to include multiple locations throughout Mississippi.

Darrin Mitchell Jr., who co-owns the Meridian location, said bringing Thee Herbal Blessing to the Queen City goes beyond a business decision.

“We don’t look at this just as a business. We look at it as purpose,” he said. “You know a lot of us are on medication. A lot of us are going through things that’s really deep, and so bringing this business here, it’s a great opportunity.”

Collins said he didn’t choose Meridian as much as Meridian chose him, and part of that is finding a great business partner in Mitchell. Together they are bringing a new, natural healing avenue to the city.

Meridian City Councilman Elliot Brewer thanked Collins and Mitchell for their investment in the community. Bringing new businesses and providing opportunities for small business owners is what the City Council is all about.

“We’re just thankful that you all are here in Meridian, thankful for this opportunity that you all have established a new business and growth in our community,” he said. “That’s what we’re all after. That’s what we’re seeking today, and so we’re thankful to add them to the list of our wonderful business we have here in the city.”

Helen Sims, membership director for the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, said Mitchell has led several health-related initiatives in Meridian to try and help residents improve their overall health. Thee Herbal Blessing is another example of that mission, she said, as well as an investment into the community.

“We’re so thankful that you chose Meridian and Lauderdale County to invest in and help our community be better,” she said.
