Arrest in the August 2024 fatal motor vehicle incident
The Meridian Police Department has announced an arrest in the August 2024 fatal motor vehicle incident that occurred in the 4900 block of 14th St. in Meridian, Mississippi. The victim Willie Grace was struck by a vehicle and later died from his injuries.
An investigation began immediately following the incident and has remained active for more than 500 days. The case was led by the Meridian Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, with investigators pursuing every lead, reviewing evidence, and continuing follow-up work over the course of the investigation.
As a result of that work, Latoya Shunday Marsh was charged on January 14, 2026, with Capital Murder. She is currently being held in the Lauderdale County jail. Judge Dustin Markham gave Marsh no bond with the charge.
