Update on Philadelphia Shooting

On August 18, 2025 at approximately 8:30PM officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Lewis Ave where reports of a male being shot. Upon arrival officers observed a male suffering a gunshot wound to the lower leg and rendered aid until ambulance arrived. The male victim was transported by ambulance to a Meridian hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Victim is a 20 year old male from Carthage, MS Initial reports were that a group of people at the residence heard a shot and victim advise that he had been hit. After further investigation victim stated that he unintentionally discharged his firearm attempting to retrieve it from his pants accidentally shooting himself in the leg.

Investigation is still on going at this time.
