Tragic I-20 Accident Claims Life of Laurel Woman

Meridian, MS – A tragic accident on Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a young woman from Laurel, Mississippi.

The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Mile Marker 150, close to the Meridian Regional Airport. Allegedly, an 18-wheeler traveling westbound suffered a blown steer tire, causing the driver to lose control. The truck crossed the median and entered the eastbound lanes, colliding with a Ford sedan.

The car was driven by Audrey Moore, 21, of Laurel, MS. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
