Armed Man Shot and Killed After Breaching Mar-a-Lago Security Perimeter
PALM BEACH, Fla. — An armed man was shot and killed early Sunday morning after entering the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach resort owned by President Donald Trump.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the resort’s north gate. Agents observed a man carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can inside the restricted area.
Secret Service personnel, along with a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), confronted the individual. During the encounter, the suspect was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fox News identified the suspect as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina. Authorities have not yet publicly confirmed additional details regarding motive.
The Secret Service said the investigation remains ongoing. No injuries to protectees or law enforcement personnel were reported.
