Man Struck and Killed After Jumping from Vehicle on I-59 Early Sunday

Hattiesburg, MS – A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning when a man was struck and killed on Interstate 59 near mile marker 80 in the southbound lane.

The victim has been identified as Andres Domingo, 27, a Hispanic male from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. According to authorities, the incident took place around 2:20 a.m., when Domingo, a passenger in a moving vehicle, opened the door and jumped out for reasons that are still under investigation.

Following his exit from the vehicle, Domingo was struck by multiple vehicles. However, by the time Mississippi Highway Patrol arrived on the scene, none of the vehicles involved remained at the location.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident and is urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or has information about the vehicles involved to come forward.
