Two Charged With Felony Shoplifting in Lauderdale County
James Wiggins, 21, and Jason Wiggins, 42, both of Meridian, have been charged with felony shoplifting and conspiracy following their arrests Thursday. The two appeared before Judge “Bo” Bailey in Lauderdale County Circuit Court at the Lauderdale County Courthouse.
According to the Lauderdale County Detention Center booking records, James Wiggins was booked at approximately 1:47 p.m. and faces charges of conspiracy and felony shoplifting. Jason Wiggins was booked at approximately 1:46 p.m. and faces multiple counts of felony shoplifting along with a conspiracy charge.
Bond for both men has been set at $2,500.
James Wiggins is identified as a Meridian Police Department officer, while Jason Wiggins also has a background in law enforcement. Both are being represented by Tupelo attorney Jim Waide.
The charges are allegations, and both James Wiggins and Jason Wiggins are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The case will proceed through the Lauderdale County court system
