Law Enforcement Torch Run Supports Special Olympics in Meridian
The annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run made its way through downtown Meridian this morning, bringing together local officers and community members in support of a meaningful cause.
Participants from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office and the Meridian Police Department took part in the event, helping carry the torch as a symbol of hope and inclusion for Special Olympics athletes.
The run began at Dumont Plaza and continued through downtown before concluding at the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, located next to the county courthouse.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an annual event held across the country to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics, supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities and promoting acceptance and unity within communities.
