Police Searching for Suspect After Fleeing Traffic Stop

Meridian Police Department officers are currently on scene near 19th Street and 33rd Avenue following a pursuit and crash involving a fleeing suspect.

According to MPD, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near 34th Avenue and 8th Street when the driver fled the scene. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed near 33rd Avenue.

The driver then jumped out of the vehicle and ran on foot. Officers are actively searching the surrounding area at this time.

Residents in the area are advised to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. No injuries have been reported so far.
