Second person Charged in Murder at Frank Berry Courts
A second person has been changed in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Frank Berry Courts on May 20.
Meridian police have charged Jaquarius Nelson with weapon possession by a felon. Nelson’s bond is $10,000.
The shooting involved Malcolm Johnson and Marquez Green. According to Acting Captain Dareall Thompson, the two men were shooting at each other, and both were injured and transported to local hospitals.
Green was listed in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries on May 22.
Johnson sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Upon his release from the hospital on May 23, he was taken into custody by Meridian police and charged with murder. Johnson’s bond has been set at $1 million. He is being held in the Clarke County Jail.
