Arrest made in West Gate Hills Shooting

Meridian police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting on West Gate Hills Drive on May 12 that left one man injured.

Khmaj Smith has been charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery. Smith’s bond is set at $200,000.

The afternoon shooting occurred in the 5000 block of West Gate Hills Drive. The shooting victim was taken to a Meidian hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initially, officers believed the suspect was inside a residence at the scene. It was later determined that the suspect was not in the home and had fled the scene of the shooting.
