Burglary at Lauderdale County Farm Supply Leads to Two Arrests

Meridian, MS — Officers with the Meridian Police Department and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department responded early this morning to a reported burglary at the Lauderdale County Farm Supply on 49th Avenue.

According to authorities, two suspects were taken into custody after attempting to flee in a van parked behind the co-op near the railroad tracks. Investigators later confirmed that the van had also been reported stolen.

A sign posted on the store’s entrance—reading “Free Ride in a Police Car If You Shoplift”—proved unintentionally fitting as officers escorted the pair from the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
