The campaign focused on seat belt enforcement, impaired driving, speeding, and overall roadway safety during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

“Our message remains simple,” said Meridian Police Chief Malachi Sanders. “Buckle up. Drive sober. Make smart decisions behind the wheel. These enforcement efforts are about protecting lives and keeping our community safe.”

The Meridian Police Department participated alongside agencies across Mississippi as part of the nationwide “Click It or Ticket” campaign coordinated through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

MPD says traffic enforcement efforts will continue throughout the summer as officers remain focused on reducing crashes, injuries, and impaired driving throughout the city.
