Butler PD Arrest Dodge Challenger Driver After Car Chase
CHOCTAW COUNTY, Ala. — The Butler Police Department has arrested a man accused of fleeing from officers in an orange Dodge Challenger Saturday night on Highway 10 in Choctaw County, Alabama.
According to sources, officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly fled, with speeds reportedly reaching well over 100 miles per hour. Officers eventually lost sight of the Dodge Challenger, and the pursuit was called off shortly before the vehicle reached the Mississippi state line.
Authorities later identified the alleged driver as De’Marterion Gordon of Lisman, AL. Gordon was taken into custody Sunday evening and has been charged with Felony Attempt to Elude. He was transported to the Marengo County Detention Center.
As of Monday morning, no bond had been set.
Authorities remind motorists that attempting to flee from law enforcement can result in serious criminal charges, including felony charges.
