Shooting in Meridian
A man was struck by gunfire Tuesday night in Meridian, according to preliminary information from local authorities.
The initial shooting occurred near 30th Avenue and 17th Street, where multiple gunshots were fired and a nearby home was also struck. The victim was later located in the 800 block of 16th Street, approximately 1.6 miles from the original scene, raising questions about how he traveled that distance. At this time, it is unknown how the victim arrived at that location.
The incident may have involved a possible robbery, approximately 25 rounds were fired at the 30th Avenue location.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition at last check.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains in its early stages. Meridian Police emphasize that details may change as more information becomes available.
Metro Ambulance and the Meridian Fire Department also responded to the scene.
