Breaking News- Statement From Company That Was Transporting Monkeys Thru Mississippi Releases Statement

PreLabs, LLC confirms that a transport vehicle transporting its non-human primates was involved in a roadway incident on highway I-59 in Mississippi on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025.

The animals were being lawfully transported in compliance with all federal and state regulations to a licensed research facility. The animals being transported were not infected with COVID-19, hepatitis and herpes as indicated in certain news articles.

This is documented by the supplier’s veterinary health certificate as well as confirmed by 3rd party testing and diagnostics services.

Local authorities and trained wildlife experts responded immediately to the scene. While most of the animals have been safely recovered, two remain uncontained.

Recovery efforts supported by trained animal control and wildlife specialists are ongoing. PreLabs is working closely with authorities to ensure the safe recovery of the animals while remaining diligent regarding public safety.

We are cooperating with authorities and reviewing all safety procedures to ensure the continued wellbeing of both the animals and the community. The public is asked not to approach or attempt to capture the animals, as they are likely frightened and disoriented following the incident.
