Meridian Police Department Announces Officer Promotions

The Meridian Police Department held a promotion ceremony Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., recognizing several officers for their service and dedication.

Chief Malachi Sanders and Mayor Percy Bland were both in attendance and praised the officers for their continued commitment to the community and the department.

During the ceremony, the following promotions were announced:

Rochester Anderson – Promoted to Master Sergeant

Courtney McGrew – Promoted to Master Sergeant

Lowell Shinn – Promoted to Master Sergeant

Chanetta Stevens – Promoted to Captain over the Criminal Division

City leaders highlighted the importance of strong leadership within the department and commended the officers for their hard work and professionalism.
