Name Released in Clarke County Incident
Clarke County Coroner David Bonner has released the name of the man who died in a workplace accident on Wednesday, November 26. The victim has been identified as CoLuis Degollado, 35, of Veracruz, Mexico.
The incident occurred in the Desto community, south of Quitman off Highway 145. According to Coroner Bonner, early information indicates that Degollado had been working inside a hole when the surrounding sides collapsed, causing a cave-in.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. OSHA and the Clarke County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.
