Car Chase Ends with Arrest in Neshoba County

A traffic stop was initiated at Walmart in Philadelphia at around 7 p.m. on a 2024 Hyuandi Elantra listed as stolen earlier in the day. The vehicle fled west bound on Beacon and then turned north on Highway 15 North. From there the vehicle took Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office, Philadelphia Police, and Choctaw Police on a 7-8 mile chase through city streets before coming back out on 15 North headed south bound back toward Road 383. The vehicle made a right turn onto Road 383 and then a right on Road 1343, and then fled on foot before deputies arrived to the car. A search was conducted of the surrounding area with negative results but an ID of the suspected driver was made.

Around 4:30 am this morning a tip was made to Choctaw Police on the whereabouts of the suspect and he was taken into custody.

The suspect will have to answer to crimes on the reservation before being extradited to the Neshoba County Detention Facility to be charged with Felony Fleeing, Possession of Stolen Property, Felony Possession of Controlled Substance, and numerous traffic violations through the Neshoba County Sheriff’s and the 8th District Circuit Court.

The suspect has been identified as Jehovah Dixon.
