Forest Police Department Announces Arrest in Second Student Sexual Misconduct Case at the Forest Municipal School District
Forest, Mississippi — The Forest Police Department has arrested another individual in a separate case involving sexual misconduct with a student in the Forest Municipal School District. This incident occurred within 40 days of the arrest of Austin Taylor, who was previously charged in an unrelated case.
On September 29, 2025, Austin Taylor, a coach at Forest High School, was arrested on multiple charges, including sexual battery, grooming, and additional offenses.
In the most recent case, Nichole Lara, a 22-year-old volunteer color guard instructor, was arrested on November 6, 2025, for sexual battery, grooming, and child exploitation. The male student victim reported inappropriate Snapchat messages that escalated to the exchange of nude photos. According to witness statements, the misconduct began during band camp in July 2025.
“The Forest Police Department is committed to protecting students and holding all parties accountable,” said Chief Bell.
