Burglary at Sun South, Gator Stolen in Late-Night Theft

Meridian, MS — Authorities are investigating a burglary that occurred late Sunday night at SunSouth your local John Deere dealership. The incident happened around 11 p.m. on July 21st, when an unidentified suspect or suspects broke into the property and stole a John Deere Gator utility vehicle The stolen vehicle is a John Deere Gator 590 Series, a high-performance utility model popular for both commercial and recreational use.

The dealership, SunSouth, located in Meridian, reported the theft shortly after discovering the break-in. Surveillance footage and other evidence are currently being reviewed by the Meridian Police Department (MPD), which is leading the investigation. We are actively pursuing leads and reviewing available video surveillance," said a spokesperson for MPD. "We encourage anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area or has information about the stolen Gator to come forward."Anyone with information about the burglary or the whereabouts of the John Deere Gator is urged to contact SunSouth at 601-482-8362 or the Meridian Police Department at 601-485-1893.

MPD is asking nearby residents and businesses to review their own security footage from the evening of July 21st in case the suspect passed through the area.
