North, MS-Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department Issues Warning Over Threats to Linemen

The Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department is issuing a clear and direct warning to anyone making threats toward utility linemen working in our county.

Let us be absolutely clear: any threats made against these workers will be taken seriously and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Due to recent threats, deputies are now being assigned to accompany linemen in order to ensure their safety. This is not a situation where someone can later claim they “didn’t really mean it.” A threat is a crime, and it carries real consequences.

If you make a threat, you will be held accountable.

Do not allow careless words—spoken or typed—to turn you into a felon. That is exactly what will happen.

Consider this your warning.
