Poultry Farm Theft

Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Bill Hayes for a poultry farm theft in the Hope Community. Hayes is responsible for disconnecting and removing over 1,500 feet of copper service entrance wire from 4 chicken houses. The local farmer had allowed Hayes to remove scraps from a chicken house that had recently burned. Hayes returned to the farm and removed over $7,000 worth of copper wiring. The farmer was devastated when he went to use an electric pump in one of the remaining chicken houses. The loss of power led him to the discovery of the theft.
