Saturday night around 11 pm the Meridian Police Department would receive a phone call from 23rd Ave that child had been found. A minor child around the age of four was heard crying for his mother as he walked up 23rd Ave. A Meridian resident comforted the child as MPD made it to the scene. The police went through the area and were unable to find anyone who knew the child. CPS was called and the child was taken to the hospital to make sure all was well. The child was placed in foster care overnight.
This afternoon the Meridian Police Department would receive another call, this time from a mother reporting her child was missing. MPD responded, it would be the same area where the child was found. The information we have so far states that the child spent the night with a grandparent . The grandparent left the home and put someone else in charge of watching the child, and at some point the child slipped out the door unnoticed. The grandparent returned and thought the mother had picked up the youngster . The missing child would not be discovered until this afternoon, when the parent returned to take the child home.
This is nothing short of a miracle , a neighbor hearing the crying, a car not coming along , a stray dog not being there. I'm sure it was God who watched over the youngster and guided him to those who arose to the situation, a miracle on 23rd.
