Meridian Police Department Media Release

Meridian Police Department was requested to respond to 631 calls for service from August 16, 2024 at 6:00 AM to August 20, 2024 at 6:00 AM.

The following were reported to the Meridian Police Department.            

Robbery

At 8:56 PM on August 17, 2024, Meridian Police responded to an armed robbery in the 4600 block of 5th Street. The victim stated he was threatened with a gun and cash was taken, the case is currently under investigation.

Commercial Burglary

At 7:38 PM on August 16, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 2300 block of Highway 19 North. Entry was gained through a door.

At 8:02 AM on August 19, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 6400 block of North Hills Street. Entry was gained through a window.

Church Burglary

There were no church burglaries reported.

Stolen Vehicles

At 7:39 AM on August 16, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a stolen vehicle in the 3000 block of 10th Avenue. The vehicle has been recovered.

At 9:18 AM on August 16, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Roebuck Drive. The case is currently under investigation.

Auto Burglary 

At 7:02 AM on August 17, 2024, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 100 block of Highway 11 & 80. Entry was gained through a door.

At 1:33 PM on August 17, 2024, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 200 block of North Frontage Road. Entry was gained through a door.

Residential Burglary

There were no residential burglaries reported.

Shootings

Meridian Police responded to 13 shots fired calls and when Officers arrived on scene, only 3 showed any evidence found to support the calls.  

At 1:24 PM on August 17, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of 11th Street. One residence was struck by gunfire, the case is currently under investigation.

At 9:54 PM on August 17, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Mosby Road. One vehicle was struck by gunfire, the case is currently under investigation.

At 5:17 PM on August 19, 2024, Meridian Police responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of Highland Avenue. One individual and one vehicle were struck by gunfire, the case is currently under investigation.
