.HARD FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 11 possible.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Alabama and
southeast Mississippi.
* WHEN...From late Thursday night through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect a HARD FREEZE beginning late
Thursday night, with temperatures falling to below 20 degrees
during the overnight hours into the early morning hours through
Sunday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
