Church Burglary Lands One in The Neshoba County Jail

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office arrested Peter McMillian on BlackJack Church property in Neshoba County, Mississippi. He was arrested on the following charges: 2 counts of burglary of a church. Deputies responded to the 13421 BIA 0022 after a church member called reporting a burglary in progress. The church had recently been burglarized on June 12, 2022, when a window was broken to gain access.

The proactive efforts of church members placing a ring camera inside the facility paid huge rewards. A church member was alerted when movement was detected inside the church building. She immediately called 911, to alert law enforcement. Within minutes, deputies were on scene and located the suspect as he attempted to leave the property. McMillian had used his ID card to gain entry into the church building. The video revealed McMillian gathering items and placing in plastic bags for easy carry. McMillian is currently awaiting an initial appearance in Justice Court Neshoba for bond review.
