The City of Newton Police Department is investigating attempted Murder and Suicide. Police responded to a domestic call around 3:30 am on July 13, 2022 to an apartment complex on Poplar Drive. Police discovered a woman who had been shot in the face . She told police that her boyfriend had shot her and fled, police would would find the male subject not far from the apartment with a self inflected gunshot. The male subject died on the scene and the woman was transported to a hospital, in stable condition. This is a on going investigation with details to follow.
