Meridian Police Investigating City’s Eighth Homicide of the Year

MERIDIAN — The Meridian Police Department responded to a report of shots fired Thursday night in the 4500 block of Manning Street, where a male victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to preliminary reports, a structure and the male subject were struck by gunfire. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing several rounds fired in the area.

The Meridian Fire Department and Pafford EMS also responded to the scene.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified as of this report.

The incident is being investigated as Meridian’s eighth homicide of the year, according to the information available at this time.
