Meridian Exchange Club Hosts Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon
The Meridian Exchange Club recently gathered to honor outstanding members of local law enforcement during its annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon.
The event was held at Red Lobster and recognized officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to their communities.
Meridian Police Department Honoree
Officer Chameria Washington was named Officer of the Year for the Meridian Police Department. Washington was recognized for exceptional dedication, professionalism, and commitment to protecting and serving the citizens of Meridian. Her performance throughout the year demonstrated leadership and a strong commitment to public safety.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Honoree
Lt. Joe Mercado received Officer of the Year honors representing the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office. Mercado was commended for his outstanding service, leadership, and willingness to exceed expectations in the line of duty.
Mississippi Highway
Patrol Troop H Honoree
Ryan Evans, representing Troop H of the Mississippi Highway Patrol, was also recognized for exemplary service. Evans’ dedication and commitment to highway safety have made a significant impact in the region.
