Choctaw Tribal Chief Extends Burn Ban Through October 30

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. — Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben has extended the burn ban for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians through October 30, 2026.

The extension comes as dry conditions continue to raise concerns about fire danger across the region.

The burn ban remains in effect throughout the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians’ tribal lands until the extended deadline. Residents should refrain from outdoor burning while the ban is in place.

Residents are encouraged to follow the burn ban and take precautions to help prevent wildfires.
