It's almost time for Meridian Mardi Gras!

Meridian Mardi Gras will be on City Hall lawn THIS Saturday, February 7th. There will be lots of delicious food vendors serving up pretty much anything you could want starting at 11 AM. And yes... we will have CRAWFISH!!!
Animal Medical Supply/Poplar Springs Animal Hospital will put the dog costume contest starting at 11:00 followed by the Krewe of Barkus dog parade kicking off at 12:00. It only costs $10 to enter the dog costume contest and the proceeds go to the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter and Roadside Rescue. Entry forms can be picked up at Poplar Springs Animal Hospital or Animal Medical Supply. You can also just sign up when you get there.
The Krewe of Midas parade will follow the dog parade at 12:00 PM. There is still time to register your float, vehicles, golf carts, walking groups, or marching bands and there will be cash prizes for winners in different categories. Make sure to head back to City Hall after the parade to catch the horns, the funk, and that second line energy with Epic Funk Brass Band. We're also excited to have DJ Garrett Ip as our DJ throughout the day to keep the vibes going!
There will be lots of kids activities going on such as fun inflatables and slides, as well as face painting!
