Mississippi Attorney General Announces Sentencing in Child Exploitation Case

Lynn Fitch announced the sentencing of Steven Dessino for the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Dessino was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in federal prison, followed by 20 months of post-release supervision.

The case was heard by Michael P. McNeel, who also ordered Dessino to pay $37,000 in restitution. Upon release, Dessino will be required to register as a sex offender.

Attorney General Fitch emphasized the state’s continued commitment to protecting children and prosecuting those involved in child exploitation crimes.

The case highlights ongoing collaboration between state and federal authorities to identify, investigate, and hold offenders accountable.
