Lauderdale County, MS Solid Waste Enforcement

This marks the continued growth of Lauderdale County’s Adopt-a-Road Program, created to help keep our roadways clean and welcoming. We are proud to recognize Brian McCary as the second official participant in the program. Brian has adopted 1 mile of Russell Camp Road in the Southeast area, where he regularly picks up litter and helps maintain a cleaner, more inviting roadway for everyone who travels through.

Brian shared that his decision to get involved started with seeing Mr. Bobby Ingram’s dedication to his own adopted roads. Watching Bobby consistently care for his area inspired Brian to step up and do the same in his community.

Brian explained it this way:

“Seeing Mr. Bobby Ingram’s dedication to keeping his area clean inspired me to do the same. I hope this effort encourages others to help keep Lauderdale County beautiful — because no one wants to build something nice in a place that looks neglected. A clean community reflects pride, invites opportunity, and makes a difference.”

Brian chose Russell Camp Road because it’s part of the community he cares about and a route used daily by both local residents and visitors. He understands that first impressions matter and believes that clean roadsides send a powerful message about the pride people have in where they live. By going out regularly to collect litter, Brian is helping to protect the look of the Southeast area, support safer and cleaner travel, and show that one person’s effort truly can make a visible difference.

We thank Brian McCary for following Bobby’s example, taking ownership of his roadway, and helping set the standard for our Adopt-a-Road program.
