Board of Supervisors Appoint Temporary Justice Court Judge

Meridian, Miss. — The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted Tuesday morning to appoint LaBaron Hedgeman as the temporary Justice Court Judge for District 2.

Hedgeman will fill the seat previously held by Justice Court Judge Ondray Harris Sr., who passed away in November 2025. The appointment will remain in place until a special election is held.

According to public information, Hedgeman is a motivational speaker and serves as a pastor at Freedom Rock Cathedral in Meridian.

A special election is scheduled for November to officially fill the vacant District 2 Justice Court judge position.
