Long Beach Man Sentenced to 40 Years

JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced that Robert Stephan Wilson Jr. has been sentenced to 40 years for the possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Mississippi Attorney General's Office.

According to the Attorney General's Office, investigators discovered thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse material during a search of Wilson's electronic devices. The case was developed through an undercover operation and prosecuted with assistance from law enforcement partners.

Attorney General Fitch said the conviction is another step toward protecting children from online exploitation.

"With each successful prosecution like this one, we are making the Internet safer for children across our state," Fitch said. "But we need your help. If you have information about a child being exploited online, please report it. Your tip could save a life."

Every report is reviewed and investigated to help protect children and bring offenders to justice.
