Name Released in Fatal I-20 Accident

Lauderdale County Coroner Stella McMahan has released the name of the 18-wheeler driver who died in an accident on Interstate 20 Wednesday, August 26. The driver has been identified as 67-year-old David Larry Jackson.

The accident occurred near the Welcome Center at Toomsuba when the 18-wheeler reportedly left the roadway and overturned in the median. Part of the truck’s load was thrown into the westbound lanes, temporarily blocking traffic and creating a hazard for motorists.

Authorities responded to the scene and worked to clear the roadway and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
