Tim Curry, ‘Home Alone 2’ and ‘Rocky Horror’ Star, Dies at 80

Actor Tim Curry, best known for his unforgettable roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Stephen King’s It, has died at the age of 80. Curry died at his home in Los Angeles, according to his longtime manager and friend. A cause of death has not been released.

Curry became a pop-culture icon after portraying Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He later became widely recognized by younger audiences for his role as the hotel concierge Mr. Hector in Home Alone 2, as well as his chilling portrayal of Pennywise the clown in the 1990 television adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

Throughout his career, Curry worked across film, television and the stage, earning multiple Tony nominations and an Emmy nomination. He continued working in voice acting and other projects after suffering a major stroke in 2012.

Tim Curry leaves behind a career that spanned more than five decades and a collection of memorable characters that made him one of Hollywood’s most recognizable character actors. He was 80.
