Accident Near Lamar School Claims Life

MERIDIAN, Miss. — A rollover accident near Lamar School Sunday afternoon has claimed the life of a Meridian man.

The Meridian Fire Department and Meridian Police Department responded to the accident shortly after 5 p.m. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway near Lamar School, rolled over, and went through a fence before coming to rest across the road.

The driver was transported for medical treatment but later died from his injuries.

William Day, 65, of Meridian, was pronounced deceased later Sunday afternoon.
