The Meridian Blues opened their season Thursday night at Scagg Field on the campus of Meridian Community College against the Nacogdoches Niners. Fans packed the stands for the highly anticipated opening game. Despite a strong effort by the Blues, the Niners won with a 10–7 victory over Meridian in the season opener.
