Neshoba County Sheriff's Department Takes Suspect into Custody After Fleeing Safety Checkpoint
NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss. — The Neshoba County Sheriff's Department took a suspect into custody Thursday afternoon after the individual fled from a safety checkpoint on Highway 15 South near the intersection of County Roads 337 and 248.
According to the Sheriff's Department, the suspect was identified as Courtney Campbell of Union, Mississippi.
Following the incident, deputies launched a search with assistance from the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
After several hours of searching, deputies located and arrested Campbell on County Road 210, just west of Union near Little Mountain Baptist Church.
No additional information regarding possible charges or the circumstances surrounding the incident has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
