MERIDIAN, MS — The Meridian Public School District Foundation for Educational Excellence was selected as the REACH Award recipient for Lauderdale County by the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi.

The Foundation was nominated by a member of the community and selected in recognition of its efforts to make a meaningful difference for children and families across Lauderdale County. The REACH Award highlighted organizations whose work created measurable impact and strengthened opportunities for youth.

As a REACH Award recipient, the Meridian Public School District Foundation for Educational Excellence was featured in the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi’s 2026 KIDS COUNT Risk and Reach data report, which showcases data and stories focused on the well-being of children throughout the state.

Award recipients were also acknowledged during the 5th annual Children’s Summit, Sowing Seeds of Success: Cultivating a Bright Future for Mississippi’s Children, held April 29–30, 2026, at the Clyde Muse Center. Attendance at the Summit was optional and not required to accept the award or to be included in the report.

“This recognition reflected the heart of our work,” said Matt Davis, MPSD Foundation Board Member. “Our focus has always been on creating opportunities for students and supporting families, while recognizing the amazing work of MPSD educators, and it was an honor to see those efforts acknowledged at the state level.”

This recognition underscored the Foundation’s commitment to supporting students, families, and schools throughout the Meridian Public School District and the broader community
