City Council Approves Major Sewer Line Improvements in St. Andrews Neighborhood
Meridian, MS – The City of Meridian is moving forward with critical infrastructure improvements in the St. Andrews community. The City Council has approved a change order with Hemphill Construction to replace and upgrade the major sewer line off Grand Avenue. This project, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), is expected to take approximately five to six weeks to complete. Once finished, the improvements will strengthen the city’s sewer system, providing long-term benefits for residents in the St. Andrews area and supporting the city’s overall infrastructure needs Public Works Director David Hodge, working tirelessly alongside Mayor Percy Bland, Chief Administrative Officer Craig Hitt, and the Meridian City Council, helped secure the change order to ensure this important project could move forward.
“This project reflects what happens when leadership works together to solve problems,” said Mayor Percy Bland. “We are delivering real results for our neighborhoods while making smart use of available federal funds.”
The City of Meridian is committed to improving essential services and ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with the city’s growth and future needs. Updates on the progress of this project will be shared as work continues.
