MERIDIAN, Mississippi — The City of Meridian, Mississippi will host Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., giving residents a convenient opportunity to safely dispose of household materials that require special handling.

Drop off locations will be available at the Public Works Complex, 311 27th Avenue South, and the North Hills Shopping Center, 4531 35th Avenue in Meridian, Mississippi.

Accepted materials include paints, batteries, used oil, aerosol cans, paint thinners, pesticides, fluorescent bulbs, and other household hazardous waste.

“This is another simple way we can help people take care of their homes while also taking care of our community,” said Mayor Percy Bland. “Providing an easy, responsible way to dispose of these materials helps keep Meridian cleaner and protects the places where we all live, work and raise our families.”

Residents are encouraged to gather eligible household materials ahead of the event and bring them to collection locations during the scheduled hours.
