One Arrest Made After Drug Task Force Serves Search Warrant in Meridian

MERIDIAN, Miss. — One person was arrested Thursday morning after the East Mississippi Drug Task Force, assisted by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team, served a search warrant at a residence in Meridian.

According to authorities, the warrant was executed at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at a home located in the 5900 block of 1st Street.

Marquise Cole was arrested and faces multiple felony charges, including:

Sale of methamphetamine within 1,500 feet of a church, with bond set at $75,000

Possession of methamphetamine within 1,500 feet of a church while in possession of a firearm, with bond set at $100,000

Felon in possession of a firearm, with bond set at $75,000

Investigators also seized two handguns from the residence. One of the firearms was reported stolen out of Los Angeles, California.

Officials say the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation targeting individuals involved in the sale of illegal drugs in the community.
