Philadelphia Police Department serves search warrant for the alleged sale and distribution of illegal controlled substances

On October 1, 2026, the Philadelphia Police Department, with assistance from multiple local, state, and federal agencies, executed a series of search and arrest warrants throughout the City of Philadelphia and Neshoba County. The warrants were the result of an investigation lasting more than a year into the alleged sale and distribution of illegal controlled substances and other illegal products at businesses within the city.

During the investigation, purchases of suspected illegal products were made from local businesses. Information and evidence obtained during the investigation ultimately led to the issuance of search warrants for multiple businesses, warehouses, and residences.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on October 1, law enforcement teams simultaneously served warrants at multiple locations. Different teams of officers were assigned to each location.

Agencies assisting the Philadelphia Police Department included the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), MS Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), MS Bureau of Investigation (MBI), MS Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC), the Neshoba County Sheriff's Office, Neshoba County Constable, and Neshoba Ambulance Services.

Search warrants were executed at the following businesses:

- Shell Station, Highway 16 East

- Shell Station, Highway 16 West

- Maxx Tobacco and Vapor, West Beacon Street

During searches of these businesses, law enforcement officers seized a large quantity of products suspected of being illegal.

Search warrants were also executed at two warehouses located in East Gate Plaza on East Beacon Street. A large quantity of suspected illegal products was seized from those locations as well.

Residential Search and Arrest Warrants

Search and arrest warrants were also served at three residences in the city and county.

At a residence in the 500 block of East Main Street, officers arrested Mohamad Elnaham, 19, of Philadelphia, and Zakio Elnaham, 39, of Philadelphia.

At a residence in the 14000 block of Highway 488, officers arrested Amro Elnaham, 35, of Philadelphia.

At a residence in the 15000 block of Highway 488, officers arrested Khaled Elnaham, 29, of Philadelphia.

Firearms and other items of evidence were taken and seized from these residences.

- Conspiracy to Distribute Narcotics

This investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests and charges are expected.

The City of Philadelphia is also currently exploring the potential adoption of an ordinance addressing the sale of hemp-related products containing THC and Kratom products within the city.

Local business owners who sell hemp, THC, Kratom, or similar products are encouraged to closely monitor their inventory and ensure that all products offered for sale comply with applicable laws and regulations.
